Château Marie du Fou is the family house. Its foundations are said to be dating back to the 12th century, which makes it one of the oldest fortified building in Southern Loire.
This powerful Lord's domain has survived the different events of French History such as the Hundred Years' War and the French Revolution, and it now watches over its precious 67 hectares vineyard.
The land of Marie du Fou is made of schistes mostly, with a few parcels of rhyolites. It produces rich and well structured wines.
Château Marie du Fou is a result of a mixture of Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, partially aged in 400 liters oak casks. Its aromatic structure is typical of Loire wines. It has a fruity nose with red berries and spicy notes. It renders all the southern nature of Vendée in the mouth, with surprising amplitude and volume. The finish remains fresh and the tannins remain fine.

Château Marie du Fou rosé is obtained after a direct press of Pinot Noir, Gamay Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon. Its raspberry color, almost blue, is its signature. Its aromatic structure is very complex and could be compared to a basket of fruit. The mouth is well structured and elegant and the finish is a fresh strawberry coulis.
White Château Marie du Fou associates Chenin and Chardonnay. After a gentle pneumatic press, the juices are aged in 400 liters oak casks and regularly mixed. This way, Chenin takes a very special character and it imposes its aromatic fineness and its long finish. Chardonnay adds its softness and smoothness to the pot. White Château Marie du Fou is considered as the jewel of the vineyard...
